CJ Horn records Top-5 outing with Malvern Bank East at Maquoketa Speedway
Losing the first two nights of his Memorial Day weekend to rough weather, CJ Horn joined the Malvern Bank East Series at Maquoketa (Iowa) Speedway on Saturday afternoon to kick off a doubleheader through Iowa.
Topping the charts in his qualifying group, Horn earned a second-row starting spot in the A-Main after charging from sixth-to-fourth in his heat race. CJ ran inside the Top-5 the majority of the $3,000-to-win show and came away with a fifth-place outing.
Wrapping up the holiday weekend at Dubuque (Iowa) Fairgrounds Speedway on Sunday, CJ started fifth in the 30-lapper but faded to finish 16th.
